Eugenie Young

Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About my work

I started my journey as a therapist 15 years ago as a complementary health practitioner and coach, helping individuals overcome physical, mental, and emotional challenges.

My approach is rooted in person-centred ethos combined with elements of various psychotherapeutic modalities, depending on the needs of every individual client.

I treat my clients with kindness, empathy, and humility in a supportive and confidential environment, face-to-face or online.

I have extensive experience successfully helping people struggling with low self-worth and self-respect, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, mood imbalances, persistent worry, phobias, obsessions and compulsions, grief and loss, anger, irritability, hopelessness, suicidal ideations, and worry.

I also work with individuals dealing with OCD, personality disorders, gender matters, and other issues.

Seeing individuals heal, grow, and move forward from challenging experiences brings me immense joy.

“Eugenie is an amazing therapist with a heart of gold, i have never met anyone who understands me like her. She listens and she analyzes what are the underlying causes of why i feel what i feel. I trust her which is something i can rarely say about people. She is truly experienced and professional, and she is honestly the only therapist who was able to reach into the deepest parts of my mind. Thank you eugenie!”

Specialisations

Abuse Trauma

Over the past several years, my work has been focused on helping clients suffering from abuse-related and other trauma. The impact of traumatic experiences can be profound, affecting every aspect of a person’s life and leaving deep emotional scars and physiological problems.

One of the main aspects of my approach is creating a safe and compassionate space for survivors to share their experiences without fear of judgment in a trauma- and experience-informed environment. I adjust my therapeutic approach to match each person’s individuality and needs to support their healing better and avoid re-traumatisation.

“I just wanted to write a quick note to thank you with all of my heart for everything this morning… You helped me to find myself again and remember who I am…It feels like everything has been ‘churned up’ and lots of things rising to the surface. I guess I feel like I am really beginning a new part of my life, I am not the person I was a year ago, and yesterday you helped me to start letting go of the old me.” – Sonya

Spiritual Counselling and Personal Growth

Trained and experienced in multiple complementary healthcare and spiritual modalities, I support individuals with spiritual and personal growth issues and aspirations. My clients have come to me concerned about unexplained occurrences, mystical and psychic encounters, medically unexplained health issues, low energy and high emotional sensitivity.

We also explore their marital, family, and social problems and develop strategies for building relationships with others and themselves while remaining authentic. We also work on resolving professional and business difficulties, creative blocks, feelings of unfulfilled potential, therapist’s and writer’s block or burnout, and loss of direction or meaning in life.

“Eugenie is an incredibly intuitive, kind and effective counsellor and therapist. She helped my son in a big way when he was in a dark and lonely place. Her compassion and generosity know no bounds!” – Peter.
